The Fitzroy Beer Garden is one of Fitzroy’s go-to hot spots for the young and wild. This rustic, Babylonian style, open-garden is lined with brick and recycled wood, plants galore, and sofas and chairs you would see in a yard sale in the old country.
It’s got a great vibe, really chill and relaxed, with beats to match and lots of fun times ahead. The beer garden houses a decent selection of beers, wines, and for those of you looking for lunch, brunch or dinner to go with your good time, a pretty darn delicious menu. Their burgers are big and fantastically pleasing.
Nightlife in Fitzroy is where it’s at. The inner north has some of the best places to go for a dance and a cocktail or twelve, and Fitzroy has to be on everyone’s list.
We love the look of this place. It’s like an abandoned shack reborn into a lively music barn and the crowds just keep on coming. For events, there is never a dull moment. Trivia nights, guest DJ’s, and some of the biggest club nights around.
The crowds, or ‘Garderners’ as they’re referred to, are all happy-go-lucky down-to-earth northerners. You’ll find a lot of uni students, and twenty-somethings, the early thirties, mingling, chatting, drinking and getting along in the garden.
It’s an unpretentious type of place (sometimes). Not too fancy and not too casual. Get there early to avoid the bigger lines as it does get pretty packed.
