This cute simple and spacious cafe on Drummond street is a great go-to for a quick lunch, nice coffee, and midday meeting. Tasty made sandwiches and lots of sweet choices make it a quint little addition to the overall Carlton character.
It’s hard to stand out in Carlton, especially as a cafe. Lucky for Coffee on Drummond, it isn’t really about standing out, but more about just being there, and making sure that first coffee of the day is a damn good one.
Do you need a place to rest, have a quick breather? They’re there. Do you need a quick lunch, nothing too fancy, but something decent and filling? They’re there. A place to meet a friend, or somewhere to tuck yourself into and get some work done? On Drummond!
That’s really all there is to say about it.
It’s a cute place. Inside is cosy, nothing crazy or eclectic, and to be honest we don’t need chic and over the top. Sometimes we just miss the good old cafes that are just there. The one’s that come with a stock standard menu. The ones with good coffee. Good service. Good vibes and no bull. The ones that locals know and never tell you about because hey, they aren’t artsy and chic and we locals want some things just to ourselves!
Some things are better simple, Coffee On Drummond is one of those things, and we thank them for it. Friendly staff, tasty lunch, great coffee. That’s all we could ask for.
