Colour, character and chimichangas. El Sabor is a collider scope of Mexican flavours, spices and influences. Authentic style dishes served in an eclectic style restaurant, not too big, not too small, one of those just right kinds of places.
Maybe it’s the service? The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always around to give you some recommendations and updates. Or the way the place just feels homely. As though the owners decided to one day throw a bunch of things from home together and see where they land.
That’s the thing we like about El Sabor. It isn’t being anything else than what it is. A place to come and experience authentic cuisine, in a setting that doesn’t intrude on your meal, but at the same time adds to the flavours of the dishes like its very own seasoning.
When it does come to the dishes, what can we say?
While you’re waiting, kick up with a Margarita that will knock some sense into your night. Or choose from any one of their hand crafted cocktails, imported Mexican beers, selected wines from South America and Spain.
Soon enough you’ll be able to smell the scents wafting in from the kitchen. Food is almost done, you’ll think to yourself, sipping on that second cocktail and feeling warm all over to the sounds of south america.
El Sabor uses a lot of fresh local ingredients. The chefs believe that using local is one of the only ways to truly be authentic with your dishes. Even when those dishes are infused and inspired by not only Mexican cuisine but French, West African and Portuguese.
There’s a reason it’s called El Sabor, meaning The Taste.
Their locally-made Tortillas are the pure joy of their Tacos, and you won’t have to ask around too much before hearing about them through the delicious grapevine.
Quesadillas are among the favourites. With some mouth-watering corn on the side and Fajitas to go around, you’ll keep it coming all night.
Flan it up for dessert is where we’ll leave you, and that’s a damn good night out.
